About us
Taxis G7 is
Europe's leading radio taxi hub
and has a fleet of 7,000 affiliated taxis.
Taxis G7 plays a major role in urban mobility, its growth parallels that of the city and it offers simple and reliable travel solutions for all.
The size of its fleet and its development of high technology tools mean that TAXIS G7 is in a position to ensure quality service and minimum waiting times for all its clients. The only company in its sector to be awarded ISO 9001 quality certification, TAXIS G7 promotes a sustainable and environment-friendly policy. TAXIS G7 has set itself the aim of reducing the greenhouse gas emissions of its affiliated fleet by 25% by 2012.

Seven questions for
Serge Metz, CEO of Taxis G7
-
What is the mission of TAXIS G7?
Taxis G7 is first and foremost a service provider.
We use geolocalization to identify the taxi closest to the customer. This minimizes both waiting time for the customer and the cost of making a taxi available.
-
Could you sum up TAXIS G7 in a few figures?
- A fleet of 7,000 affiliated taxis
- 250 operators in our 24/7 Client Relations Centre
- A nationwide network of 10,000 partner taxis in over 100 cities in France
- An international network of 20,000 partners in the largest cities of Europe
- 14.9 million trips processed
These advantages mean we can offer our customers the very best service.
-
Aren’t a commitment to the environment and 7,000 taxis contradictory?
Not at all – for three reasons:
- Taxis are ecological because they are a shared method of transport and do not monopolize parking spaces in city centres.
- The size of our fleet is a guarantee that there will always be a G7 taxi close to the customer. This availability minimizes waiting time, which leads to lower ecological costs per passenger and optimized travel.
- To take its ecological approach further, in 2007 Taxis G7 committed to reducing its CO2 emissions by 2012. We offer our customers an exclusive service: the option of booking a hybrid taxi from our fleet of 450 environment-friendly taxis.
-
What are TAXIS G7’s commitments in terms of accessibility?
As a leader in its sector, in 2004 Taxis G7 began offering special services for the disabled. The G7 Horizon service has some 30 vehicles fitted with an access ramp.
But mobility for all also means taking into consideration a growing number of people for whom travelling is difficult (the elderly or those with slight disabilities). To best serve this large population, Taxis G7 offers customers the option of choosing one of its 7,000 vehicles with a low floor when they book their taxi.
-
What can you tell us about technology and innovation?
I think technology and innovation are exactly what define Taxis G7’s approach. We realized the power of technology early on:
- The leader in computerized radio taxis in 1991, we pioneered again in 1995 by equipping our taxis with GPS devices and on-board electronic payment systems.
- More recently, in 2004 we were the first to launch Internet taxi requests.
- Since 2008, customers have also been able to book a taxi using their BlackBerry® or iPhone®.
- Today our new iPhone® application stands out for its efficiency, design and service quality.
-
What is TAXIS G7’s client strategy?
Key to our strategy is the belief that the taxi is not a stereotyped method of transport, but rather a flexible and adaptable method of transport that offers a quality service to satisfy the different needs of all customers.
A few examples to illustrate this approach, which has proven its effectiveness: 25 years ago, we created the Business Club which today has become the reference in VIP taxi service.
We then developed a range of business services which have become very successful: Service Plus, Evolution and Service.
More recently, we launched our MaxiCab service for groups of six or seven people who wish to travel in the same vehicle.
And every day we also assist our customers – business customers and individuals alike – with many other services.
-
Are TAXIS G7’s services limited to the Paris region?
Our mission is to offer quality services throughout the country and to assist our customers travelling abroad via our international network of partners.
For over 10 years the companies subscribing to our services have been able to book a taxi anywhere in France and in Europe by dialling a single telephone number.
Our aim is to eventually make this service available to all our customers.
